Job Description:
The Department of Biology at Worcester State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin September 1, 2022. The successful candidate will have lecture and laboratory teaching responsibilities that include 100- and 200-level core courses for Biology majors and upper-level elective courses in the candidate's area of specialization. We are seeking candidates who will complement the disciplinary expertise of existing departmental faculty and who are committed to teaching and mentoring undergraduates. The candidate will be expected to engage in scholarly activities, including developing a research program that is strongly encouraged to involve undergraduate students, and will also be expected to take part in university- and department-level service. Opportunities to teach and/or supervise thesis research at the graduate level are also available.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in some area of the biological sciences conferred by September 1, 2022
- Demonstrated teaching experience
- Post-doctoral (or equivalent) research experience
- Experience in microbiology, virology, or histology
