Job Description:

The Department of Earth, Environment and Physics seeks qualified individuals to teach Physical Geography and Physical Geology (with Lab) for Fall 2022.

Course Descriptions:

GS 101 Physical Geography: Introduction to earth systems and processes. Characteristics and distribution of landforms, climates, water, soils, plants and animals.
Two sections: one meeting Tuesday/Thursday 8:30am-9:45am; the second meeting Tuesday/Thursday 10:00am- 11:15am.

GS 140 Physical Geology: Introduction to geological science. Rocks and minerals, internal and external geologic processes, topographic map and air photo analysis, local field study.
Two sections: one meeting Monday/Wednesday/Friday 9:30am- 10:20am and Monday (Lab) 12:00pm-1:50pm; the second meeting Monday/Wednesday/Friday 10:30am-11:20am, Wednesday (Lab), 12:00pm-1:50pm.

Applicants may teach more than one course. Preference will be given to applicants who can teach both sections of a given course.


Requirements:

  1. Minimum requirements are a Master's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Geography, or a related field.
  2. At least one year of teaching experience (TA experience is acceptable).
  3. A Ph.D. is preferred.
