Job Description



PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Director, Corporate College Operations and Grants h olds direct management authority and accountability to execute policies and operational initiatives for a department, group of departments, or functional area. Provides system wide operational leadership for Lone Star Corporate College under a profit center model through the sales and implementation of client training as well as development and implementation of TWC Skills Development Fund (SDF) training grants. The position is principal director and budgetary officer for Corporate College and Corporate Colleges Skills Development Grant funds. In collaboration with the AVC of Workforce Development, develops policies and procedures, and programs to be carried out for Corporate College. Typically makes strategic process level and interpretive decisions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Works with Associate Vice Chancellor of Workforce Development to develop policies and guiding principles for implementation of all Corporate College programs; Responsible for budget planning and resource allocation for Corporate College and Skills Development Grant fund
  • Directs and manages Lone Star College System's Corporate College, including managing multiple employees at various levels, including administrative, professional and support staff positions
  • Responsible for overseeing decisions made by hiring managers who hire trainers and vendors for Corporate College and ensures instructors/trainers/presenters are highly qualified and knowledgeable; Responsible for oversight of any training provided by other colleges under fiscal responsibilities of grants
  • Works with AVC to develop policies and guiding principles for implementation of all programs through Corporate College; Responsible for budget planning and resource allocation for Corporate College and a variety of Grant funds
  • Responsible for program and course accountability; Oversees all areas of training for Corporate College clients, maintaining a state curriculum and instructional policy for state reporting and requirements
  • Researches and evaluates trends in local business to develop new programs and maintain existing programs; Analyzes and responds to emerging trends in training and hiring needs of local businesses
  • Reviews and analyzes reports, records, and directives, and confers with corporate college counterparts to obtain sales data required for meeting revenue goals; Assigns, or delegates responsibility for specific work
  • Develops system wide relationships with system wide Instructional VPs, Deans and Directors
  • Directs management of CRM system, also known as Salesforce for internal client maintenance
  • Responsible for budget management and reporting to include fiscal oversight of budget using a profit-center approach; seeking, acquiring, and implementing grants; Seeks new funding services
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with other community college customized training departments
  • Responsible for benchmarking and developing appropriate metrics for reporting sales for Corporate College and SDF grants
  • Reviews and analyzes reports, records, and directives, to obtain sales data required for meeting revenue goal
  • Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned


  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Ability to supervise large group of staff members


    PHYSICAL ABILITIES :

    The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

    WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

    • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
    • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
    • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards


    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree and a t least 7 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Experience must inlcude at least 3 years in a manager- or director-level position
    • Experience managing professional employees a nd instructors
    • Involvement with community a nd civic agencies/organizations


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master's degree
    • Business and Industry training or organizational development experience


    Salary

    Hiring salary range is $92,410 - $106,271

    Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
