JOB DESCRIPTION

The University of Indianapolis is accepting applications for an Associate Vice President and Director of Partnerships and Business Development for Engineering. This is a full-time, exempt staff position. The R.B. Annis School of Engineering is specifically seeking an individual with an entrepreneurial mindset to forge partnerships and grow established relationships with businesses and related organizations. Working for both academic and development purposes, this person will be responsible for forming and growing partnerships for project work, internships, employer recruitment pipelines as well as development of funding opportunities for the R.B. Annis School of Engineering and the University of Indianapolis.



RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and support new and current partnership engagements, including identifying and building relationships with corporate and research organizations that are tied to the science and engineering fields
  • Develop, implement, and manage technical partnerships with businesses interested in partnering with the school, faculty, or students for project work
  • Develop and manage the implementation of an overall fundraising strategy and plan, including a diverse range of funding streams
  • Investigate and contribute to strategic decisions in relation to developing alternate income streams (consultancy, philanthropists, etc.)
  • Utilize tracking tools to identify and track partnership prospects and funding prospects as they arise
  • Act as liaison with various UIndy departments for strategic planning and communications. This position resides in the Office of Advancement, but works daily with the leadership in the R.B. Annis School of Engineering, and with the President of the University to fulfill its role.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required; Advanced Degree preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in developing partnerships, launching initiatives and attracting funding required
  • Business development experience required
  • Experience in philanthropic fundraising would be helpful
