Description The Department of Radiology in the School of Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle is seeking applications for one full-time (100% FTE) faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor without tenure (WOT) by reason of funding, commensurate with experience, in the Breast Imaging Section.  The Breast Imaging Section is comprised of 7 clinical and 1 research faculty member and 4 fellows.  This position has an anticipated start date of November 1, 2021.  School of Medicine faculty members have an annual service period of 12 months (July 1-June 30).

Responsibilities include clinical coverage of the breast imaging service, instruction of medical students, diagnostic radiology residents and breast imaging fellows, and pursuit of academic interests.  The breast imaging section provides clinical coverage and teaching at our medical centers (UW Medical Center – Montlake Campus, UW Medical Center – Northwest Campus, Harborview Medical Center, and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance).  The successful faculty candidate will be expected to perform clinical work in all aspects of breast imaging at both the UW Medical Center – Northwest Campus and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance sites.  Under the direction of Dr. Janie Lee, the section is closely integrated with clinical and research programs throughout the UW Medical Center, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, to provide the highest level of comprehensive care for breast disease.  All UW faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

Qualifications Candidates should meet the following requirements:

M.D., or foreign equivalent, in the field of medicine and eligibility for full medical licensure in Washington State Completion of a Breast Imaging Fellowship in an accredited program Demonstrated commitment to an academic career based on record of scientific presentation or publications In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
