Position Summary:

This position is involved in all aspects of research dairy operations, including but not limited to, milking, feeding, cleaning, handling, and animal health observations at the facility. This position must function with close, progressing to limited supervision. The incumbent in this position must work with limited supervision to collect, process, and composite milk samples according to established standard operating procedures.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

The incumbent must be skilled at following oral and written instructions as directed by management and research protocols. Also, the person in this position must understand basic arithmetic functions and be adept at performing them with no guidance.

Additional Information:

Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Position requires frequent bending and twisting, along with repetitive motions of hands, wrists, and arms. Must be able to respond quickly to actions of 300-1400 pound animals to prevent being stepped on and/or pinned against a gate.

Work Schedule:

This position will be required to work 40 hours per week. Schedule will vary per week based on operational need with typical working shifts of 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM, and will include an every other weekend rotation.

This position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at Emmons Blaine Dairy in Arlington, WI.
