Washburn Institute of Technology seeks applications for a Cosmetology Lab Assistant to start immediately.

Required Qualifications:
  • Two years of experience (4000 hours) working in Cosmetology or military experience equivalent to two years of experience in Cosmetology.
  • License in Cosmetology.
  • Licensed Cosmetology Instructor.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • An associate degree or higher in discipline.
  • Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
Responsibilities:

Lab Assistants are expected to be positive role models for students
  • Maintain licensure and certifications as required by the Kansas State Board of Cosmetology.
  • Direct, guide and evaluate students during the practical sessions and on the clinic floor.
  • Maintain student records about the program.
  • Proctor for student rubrics.
  • Serve as coverage for instructors during lunch periods and on Saturdays when needed.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.
