The salary range for this position is $41,200 – $51,500. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, education, experience, specialty and training.

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. MSU Denver offers a full benefits package.

The Marketing and Admissions Coordinator ( MAC ) in the Department of Nutrition’s Student Services Office works to provide undergraduate and graduate recruiting, marketing and communications, and admissions coordination while contributing to strategic enrollment management strategies and services. Through an integrated interdependent approach, the MAC coordinates job functions in a holistic way ensuring contributions are well integrated into other service areas. The MAC provides leadership in creating an inclusive environment for a diverse student body and integrates these efforts into services.

The activities performed by the MAC are central to increasing student enrollment and improving yield rates of MSU Denver students while enhancing the student experience and increasing access to higher education; and thereby, advancing the mission of MSU Denver, the College of Health and Applied Sciences, and the Department of Nutrition.

Duties/Responsibilities

Admissions Advising and Coordination (40%)
• Serves as primary admissions advisor for the Department of Nutrition graduate programs, including the MSND, 3+2 and Dietetic Internship, and provides initial communication, support, and guidance to prospective students and program applicants
• Coordinates development, evaluation, and updating of admissions processes for all Department of Nutrition graduate programs
• Determines applicant eligibility and conducts prerequisite course reviews
• Ensures admissions applications are adequate, conducts outreach to applicants missing application materials, and tracks post-admissions materials needed for programming purposes
• Creates and updates admissions materials that reflect annual timelines and initiatives
• Coordinates and implements a plan for effective communication of admission requirements and timelines
• Updates and maintains admissions materials in admissions systems
• Develops and implements communication plans to prospective students, which includes students actively working on program prerequisites, that are designed to keep students engaged and on track to apply to MSU Denver
• Ensures admissions documents and materials are equitable and accessible
• Tracks and compiles weekly admissions data reports to inform predictive analytic tools
• Coordinates admissions committee review processes and provides admissions system support to reviewers
• Tracks and compiles admission review data
• Coordinates and implements an effective process to release admission decisions to program applicants
• Participates in the design and implementation of admissions events designed to increase volume and readiness of program applicants
• Works with supervisor to ensure proper cross communication and coordination with the University to optimize recruiting efforts
• Participates in assessment of admissions practices and engages in data-informed improvements
• Conducts outreach to prospective students at all levels of the admissions funnel

Outreach and Recruiting (20%)
• Coordinates and executes application events and related workshops to ensure incoming students are successful at MSU Denver and aware of University and Departmental opportunities, including scholarships, tutoring services and teaching assistantships
• Develops and maintains an inventory of recruiting and outreach materials and resources
• Ensures materials are accessible to all individuals engaging in recruiting and outreach activities and coordinates the process for distribution/reservation of recruiting materials
• Coordinates Department of Nutrition presence at outreach events both locally and nationwide
• Develops strategic partnerships, including those with Colorado Community Colleges and local high schools, and assists with the development of pipeline programs
• Participates in outreach events. Some travel and/or evening and weekend events is required
• Works with supervisor to ensure proper cross communication and coordination with the University to optimize recruiting efforts and to ensure alignment with areas such as the Office of Graduate Studies and the Office of Marketing and Communications
• Tracks recruiting expenses and reports to supervisor
• Participates in assessment of recruiting and outreach practices and engages in data-informed improvements

Marketing and Communications (20%)
• Creates and maintains a brand standards/marketing hub to provide departmental faculty and staff collateral that is reflective of University and departmental branding. Collateral may include letterhead, email templates, logos, business cards, flyer templates, etc.
• Creates and maintains departmental flyers and informational sheets that incorporate strategic marketing efforts and aligns with Departmental mission and goals
• Conducts research and compiles data to inform marketing materials, advertising, and content
• Develops departmental swag and works with vendors to order items
• Provides support and guidance on communication strategies to include formatting, brand standards, and timing of messages
• Audits and updates website content, recommending best practice approaches and innovative ways to present website content
• Coordinates social media efforts
• Works with supervisor to ensure proper cross communication and coordination with the University to optimize marketing and communication efforts
• Tracks marketing expenses and reports to supervisor, Department of Nutrition chair and directors, as appropriate
• Participates in assessment of marketing and communication practices and engages in data-informed improvements

Data Collection and Analysis (10%)
• Collects and compiles data collected from both internal and external systems to inform decision-making and provides summaries and recommendations to supervisor, Department of Nutrition chair and program directors

Strategic Enrollment Management (5%)
• Compiles student information achieved through the recruiting, outreach and admissions processes into predictive analytic tools to provide enrollment projection reports to supervisor, Department of Nutrition chair and program directors. Data from these reports will inform course scheduling, staffing decisions, classroom needs, and student support and student services programming

Other Duties as Assigned (5%)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Admissions experience or demonstrated experience with developmental advising techniques (or equivalent)
• Experience with the creation of promotional and/or marketing materials
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite to include InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to be used for travel to destinations for recruitment purposes
• This position requires the set up and breakdown of recruitment materials, banners, etc. and therefore will require lifting up to 15 pounds and reaching above the head to set up recruiting banners and materials at events

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field
• Demonstrated ability to handle highly sensitive information/materials in a confidential manner
• Experience working in a higher education setting
• Experience working in Banner or related Student Information System
• Experience working in Slate or related online application software
• Ability to balance excellent interpersonal skills with strong administrative skills
• Experience developing marketing materials
• Experience with Terminal 4 and/or other website edit/design software
