Establishment of Department Pool for Affiliate/Part-time Instructor of Cybersecurity graduate courses.

Qualified applicants will be placed in the departmental pool and will be considered for affiliate/part-time Instructor of Computer Science Cybersecurity positions beginning Fall 2019 to Spring 2022.

Duties/Responsibilities

We are seeking part-time instructors committed to teach computer science graduate cybersecurity courses for MSU Denver’s Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity. Successful candidates will assist the department to deliver graduate cybersecurity program. Applicants will also need a thorough understanding in the field of cybersecurity including networking, servers, organizational needs and the marketplace, and the rapid evolution of each.

The graduates of our program are expected to be effective at participating in cybersecurity operations at a wide variety of organization and levels. Successful applicants will be instrumental in ensuring graduates are prepared not only in the principles and technical elements but also understand the financial, operational and strategic aspects of cybersecurity.

Required Qualifications

• [Doctorate Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity or related field] OR [Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity or related field AND at least three years of experience in the cybersecurity industry].
• Ability for and experience in educating others
• Excellent technical aptitude
• Ingenuity and willingness to develop creative solutions to complex problems
• Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a rapidly changing environment
• Experience in implementing cybersecurity solutions
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the cybersecurity industry

• Higher education experience

• Relevant certifications (cybersecurity and/or networking)

• Familiarity with national cybersecurity educational frameworks
