Set rooms for yearly camps, conferences, and other events, as requested. Sweep, dust mop, spot mop, spray buff, shower scrub, burnish, and refinish all hard surface floors throughout the assigned area, or as assigned by the supervisor. Vacuum, spot clean, shampoo, extract carpets throughout the assigned area, or as assigned by the supervisor. Move furniture, equipment, materials, and perform other general maintenance. Service, clean, and disinfect restrooms, classrooms, offices, and clean drinking fountains. Maintain custodial closets, work areas, and equipment in a clean and safe manner. Remove trash and debris from building to dumpster. Clean entry ways, partition glass, interior windows, blinds, light fixtures, and vents. Replace light bulbs, as needed. Dust furniture, spot clean walls, ceilings, and doors/frames, as needed. Snow removal, as required. Report to the Physical Plant by job request anything that needs repairing or replacing. Perform additional duties, as assigned by administrative or supervising personnel. Assist or relieve relief custodian, as assigned Education & Formal Training Other Education & Formal Training
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Computer Skills Experience
Previous custodial experience preferred. Other Experience Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements of Position: Criminal History check, Driver's license Other Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge: Attention to detail, Knowledge of a University environment preferred, Physical abilities: mobility/strength/dexterity/balance/coordination/endurance, Sensory abilities: special vision and/or hearing requirements (specify) Other Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
Ability to follow routines and schedules with minimal supervision. Specify sensory abilities: Physical & Environmental Factors: Excessive standing and/or walking, Exposure to extreme temperatures, Exposure to fumes and/or chemicals, Exposure to heights, Exposure to loud noises, Lifting (weight) - 50 lbs. May be required to be fit tested for respirators, which requires a physical exam.
