The salary range for this position is $85,000 – $91,000 at CAT II Lecturer level. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, education, experience, specialty and training.

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. MSU Denver offers a full benefits package.

The AACSB and ABET -accredited Computer Information Systems and Business Analytics department, is seeking applicants for a lecturer position in the College of Business at Metropolitan State University of Denver beginning August 2021. This is a Computer Information Systems or closely related field position. This is not a Computer Science position.

The University is particularly interested in applicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for under-represented groups.

Duties/Responsibilities

The position requires a commitment to excellence in teaching, student advising activities, professional development/scholarship consistent with AACSB accreditation, and service to the department, college, university and community. The candidate is expected to teach 15 credit hours each semester in one or more of the following areas: information systems, telecommunication systems, networking, ERP / SAP, cybersecurity and website administration; and in online, synchronous, and/or face-to-face formats.

Description of Lecturer Duties:
• Teaching involves activities that impart knowledge and critical thinking skills to students. It includes preparing for courses assigned, assessing student progress, conducting curricular review, curricular development, and program review, including the use of new technology, as appropriate.
• Advising, involves activities specifically directed to assist the student in choosing career options, choosing a degree program, successfully completing his or her degree, obtaining employment or graduate school placement, and keeping informed of University policies.
• Engaging in scholarly activities is a process which includes activity that brings enrichment to the faculty member and the profession and results in new material that can be presented to students, as well as new skills which benefit the University community and are related to the faculty member’s assigned responsibilities.
• Service involves contributions to the improvement of the welfare of the University at any level, and typically unpaid public service to the community or professional organizations which benefits the University.

Required Qualifications

A Master’s of Science degree in Computer Information Systems or Information Technology (preferred), OR a Master’s of Business Administration degree with an Information Systems emphasis, OR other closely related Master’s degree and field from a regionally-accredited institution.

*This is not a Computer Science position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous college/university teaching experience in online, synchronous and face-to-face formats, and significant professional experience in the field
• Teaching experience in a wide range of computer information systems courses, in particular, information systems, telecommunication systems, networking, ERP / SAP, cybersecurity and website administration
• A Master’s of Science degree in Computer Information Systems or Information Technology
