Assistant Coach - Football (Intern)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Title:Assistant Coach – Football (Intern)
Department: Department of Athletics
Reports to: Head Football Coach
Status: Part-time, non-benefit eligible
Appointment: 9 months, August through May
Position Summary: This position is responsible for assisting the

1.Responsible for coaching a position group that is determined by
the Head Football Coach.
2.Responsible for identifying and successfully recruiting viable
prospects from assigned recruiting territories.
3.Responsible for tracking academic progress of student athletes in
assigned position groups. Assist with the retention of student
athletes through social and academic counseling; interaction with
University retention team and coaching staff. Retention of

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.
Experience: Previous collegiate coaching preferred along with
experience with strength training and conditioning programs.
Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications:
Organizational skills, writing and typing skills, interpersonal
skills, data entry and budget management skills and demonstrated
Valid driver’s license
CPR/First Aid/ AED certification.
Certification in Strength Training (NSCA or CSCS)
Physical Requirements: Ability to handle varying levels of stress
while maintaining professional demeanor. Possible lifting, bending,
walking, kneeling, stretching, and stooping. Frequent districtwide
and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours;
outdoor exposure to sun/heat or cold weather.
Ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand. Understand
the speech of another person.
