JOB TITLE: Assistant Director of Student Activities and Operations

 

POSITION DETAILS

The Assistant Director of Student Activities and Operations position is located in the Office of Student Life and reports directly to the Associate Director of Student Life. The Assistant Director of Student Activities and Operations works directly with students to assist in developing student leaders and provides operational support to the Activities Team. The Assistant Director of Student Activities and Operations works with additional campus partners, including The Division of Student Affairs, Facilities, and Academic Departments.

 

The Assistant Director of Student Activities and Operations responsibilities include:

  • Primary contact and advisor for the Student Life media groups advising them in effective leadership, event management and production support.
  • Serve as co-adviser for the Graduate Student Assembly.
  • Provide student organizations operational support, including room reservation, event planning and management, contract creation, and budget management.
  • Advise a heritage month committee including hosting weekly committee meetings, budget management, catering/ product purchases and event oversight.
  • Spearhead the planning, coordination, and execution of annual large-scale events for 20,000+ students, including Winter Carnival, Spring Fling, and Club Fairs.
  • Supervise and support all weeknight club programming, including event management and assisting public safety.
  • Disperse and compile all campus labs surveys and assessments to students and staff who participate in our programming in order to collect Student Life data.
  • Present and create the Baruch Officer Leadership Training (BOLT).
  • Lead the large-scale event process for student organizations, including proposals, date selection, and calendar management.
  • Assist and facilitate the development of new student leaders in an engaging and effective co- curricular experience through programs such as Alternative Spring Break and TEAM Baruch.
  • Serve as the Student Life representative on one of the Division-wide Student Affairs committees.

 

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree required
  • Must be available to work 1:00-9:00 PM Monday-Friday
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are required
