Youngstown State University seeks an accomplished and collaborative leader to serve as the next Dean of the Williamson College of Business Administration (WCBA). The Dean will be an inspiring professional with a strong track record of effective administrative experience and leadership accomplishments. The Dean serves as the chief academic and administrative leader for the Williamson College of Business Administration, and will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders to advance the strategic direction of the College; advance the reputation of the college nationally and internationally; promote academic and professional excellence; support innovations in teaching, curricular design and degree offerings, research/creative activities, and faculty development; develop strategic partnerships with the regional business community, ensure ongoing alignment with AACSB accreditation standards, oversee the everyday operations of the college, its programs, and associated areas, further positive and productive relationships with alumni; formulate, coordinate, and support student recruitment and retention initiatives in collaboration with the faculty; and engage in donor development and related advancement activities to support the college and its programs.

The mission of the WCBA is to develop professionals and leaders for business and society.  We emphasize 1) a student-centered, teaching/learning process that focuses on the application of theory to practice and supports the intellectual and professional development of our students, 2) faculty scholarship that contributes to management practice, advances the discipline, and enhances the teaching-learning process, and 3) contributions by our students, faculty, and staff that support the university, profession, and the economic development of the region.   

The AACSB-accredited business programs include the BSBA with majors in advertising/public relations, accounting, business administration, business economics, finance, human resource management, management, international business, and marketing; the MBA; and the Master of Accountancy (MAcc).  Business enrollments include 1300 undergraduate business majors, 500 MBA students, and 20 Master of Accountancy majors. The college also houses the BA degrees in Economics, Communication Studies, Journalism, and Telecommunication Studies, and MA degrees in Economics, Financial Economics, and Professional Communication. There are 280 undergraduate students and 20 graduate students in the Communication programs, and a total of 40 undergraduate and graduate students in Economics. Faculty and staff resources include 41business faculty divided across the Lariccia School of Accounting and Finance and the Department of Management and Marketing, 13 faculty in The Department of Communication, and 13 professional staff members, and five support staff members.

Our students’ academic and professional preparation are supported by the WCBA Center for Student Services, WCBA Center for Career Management, Entrepreneurship Center, Center for Nonprofit Leadership, and Williamson Center for International Business. To support the economic development of the region the WCBA is proud to host the Ohio Small Business Development Center at YSU, Export Assistance Network, and Procurement Technical Assistance Center.  

The Williamson College of Business Administration is housed in the Williamson Hall, the newest academic building on campus. This $34 million, 110,000 square foot facility houses all business classrooms, faculty offices, centers, computers labs, outreach centers, and the WCBA Conference Center.

Bliss Hall, the home of Communication Studies, Journalism and Telecommunication Studies majors, includes a full television studio, classroom, audio production facilities, faculty offices, and student group workspaces. Meshel Hall houses our high-tech classrooms, podcasting studio, and a student computer lab, and the Don Constantini Multimedia Center serves as a production space for sports broadcasts on ESPN+.
