Student Financial Aid Counselor - SAP & Verification

The Student Financial Aid Counselor is primarily responsible for meeting with students who need assistance with the financial aid application processes, awards financial aid using Ellucian Colleague, the verification process, and coordinates the SAP calculation/review processes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  Position requires a Bachelor's Degree and one-year experience in higher education preferably in a financial aid office. Master’s degree and experience in a financial aid office is preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Requires the ability to perform detail work. Must be able to remain task oriented in a busy office environment with many interruptions. Needs to communicate effectively with people of varied socio-economic backgrounds. A high level of self-motivation and proven organizational skills are essential. A demonstrated ability for teamwork and maintaining confidentiality are also necessary. Must not have any Federal Student Loan in default.
