The School of Health and Natural Sciences at Mercy College seeks an experienced, energetic educator to join our dynamic team of faculty and staff in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies located on the Bronx Campus. Mercy College is seeking candidates for a full-time, multiple year track assistant professor position in the Physician Assistant Studies Program. The PA Program is seeking a knowledgeable, experienced, and collaborative applicant to be part of a diverse team of PA educators. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with program leadership, faculty, and staff to promote the successful education of future physician assistants. The successful applicant will carry a full faculty workload and be responsible for teaching assignments as determined by the program director. All faculty are responsible for curriculum development, delivery, and evaluation in both didactic and clinical components of the program, student advising, developing collaborative opportunities with community partners, and contributing to interprofessional education within the School and College. Faculty are expected to assist other faculty in the evaluation of student performance on clinical examinations and lab practicals and other assessments when needed. Faculty play a prominent role in the program’s ongoing self-study process. All faculty participate in the program’s admissions process and assist with other responsibilities as determined by program leadership. Faculty are encouraged to engage in service to the Mercy community and are expected to serve on College, School and Program committees and participate in scholarly activities. Faculty are encouraged to participate in professional development activities. Candidates with teaching experience should be familiar with the innovative use of technology in the classroom. Candidates must have a commitment to working in a multicultural setting. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications
