Child Abuse Pediatrician

Division of Child Protection and Family Health

University of Utah School of Medicine

The Division of Child Protection and Family Health has an immediate opening for a Child Abuse Pediatrician.  The pediatrician will be part of the clinical team in the Division of Child Protection and Family Health in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Utah School of Medicine and the Center for Safe and Healthy Families at Primary Children’s Hospital.  The pediatrician will provide medical consultation to children on an inpatient and outpatient basis who are undergoing evaluation for suspected child maltreatment.  Members of this Division serve in a consultative role for medical professionals and community professionals (CPS, law enforcement) throughout the Intermountain region. Clinical services are provided at Primary Children’s Hospital, University of Utah Burn Unit, and Children’s Justice Centers throughout Utah.  In addition to clinical service, there is an expectation for academic work, including education, investigation, administration, as well as advocacy. 

Qualified candidates must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatrics and in Child Abuse Pediatrics.  The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on the Clinical or Tenure track at the academic level commensurate with experience and qualifications.
