Job Description

The mission of CALS Global in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) is to build partnerships, drive thought leadership, and create opportunities - to serve globally. Creating opportunities for global engagement and impact by faculty and students in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences is central to our vision for becoming a global leader in agriculture and life sciences. We wish to build CALS’ capabilities with a fulltime specialist position devoted to discovering, applying for, and implementing grant opportunities with a focus on global research, education, and extension/outreach.

The incumbent will be part of the CALS-Research proposal team and will 1) search for grant opportunities focused on international engagement appropriate for CALS, 2) support CALS Global and CALS faculty to secure competitive funds for international engagement, 3) engage faculty and assist proposal writing teams in response to international and domestic grant opportunities, 4) review documents and submit proposals through VT and sponsor/donor systems, and 5), facilitate faculty interactions related to funding programs, and promote research impacts.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written English communication skills
• Experience in forming and working on teams
• Experience with proposal submission procedures and software, or similar relevant
experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree
• Knowledge and experience of agriculture and life sciences
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups
