Student Academic Resource Team (SART) Specialist

 

 

We are in search of an Academic Resource professional to serve as the Student Academic Resource Team (SART) Specialist. Under the supervision of the Vice Principal, the SART Specialist will ensure the provision of needed services for students with different learning needs be they physical, social, or emotional to have academic success. The Specialist will assist in the coordination and delivery of training for faculty regarding students with different needs.  In addition, the incumbent is responsible for the oversight of the Student Academic Resource Team (SART) program which will provide individualized programs to meet the needs of all students with different needs and develop partnerships with key organizations that will build the schools capacity to meet our students’ needs. The incumbent ensures compliance with established school policies, procedures, and/or regulations.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Facilitates professional development training for faculty regarding the implementation of student support plans, meeting student diverse needs in the classroom, etc.
  • Provides oversight and coaching to faculty on strategies and techniques that support the needs of their students in one-on-one and small group sessions
  • Responsible for effectively monitoring, evaluating and coordinating supports for all students under academic review
  • Coordinates the SART response once a student is referred for assistance
  • Provides input on the differentiation and implementation of the curriculum to individualized instruction for all students
  • Follows up with students to ensure that referral services are received
  • Gathers and analyzes relevant data, both qualitative and quantitative, to measure progress and produce a final report at the end of the academic year to summarize and evaluate the effectiveness of the program
  • Works directly with students giving support and also works with students in summer programming
  • Perform other related duties that are assigned

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

 

  • Master’s Degree in Special Education or a related field and a minimum of five-seven years of experience working with students with disabilities and diverse needs, at least one-year experience working with Adult English Language Learners or the appropriate combination of education and experience
  • Experience in or strong knowledge of cultural differences that impact learning in a multi-cultural environment
  • Demonstrated experience in program management
  • Prior experience delivering professional development and coaching teachers
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and other internet-based applications
  • Excellent professional and effective oral and written communications skills in English
  • Bilingual fluency a plus (Spanish/English or Amharic/English)
  • A deep commitment to CRIPCS's core values and ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners

 

Schedule Requirements: Must be available to work two evenings a week during the academic school year
