This is a part-time position with Education Development Assistance and retirement benefits.

Working hours:

Arrange a classroom to facilitate learning and meet the needs of each child individually.
Serve as a Lead Teacher for a group of children that may range in age from six weeks through ten years, in a child care setting.
Observe, assess, and assemble developmental records on children in their care.
Plan and organize classroom activities/experiences to facilitate and enhance learning for the children in their classroom. Education & Formal Training Associate's degree (Specify field(s) of study below), Bachelor's degree (Specify field(s) of study below), High school diploma or equivalent Other Education & Formal Training
Child Development Associate Credential ( CDA ) – Infant/Toddler or Preschool OR
Associate’s degree in the following field(s) of study: Early Childhood Education, Child & Family Development or Elementary Education OR
Bachelor’s degree in the following field(s) of study: Early Childhood Education, Child & Family Development or Elementary Education Computer Skills Word-Processing, Desktop Publishing, Other - Utilize application of Ipad Experience
At least nine (9) months of experience working in a formal child care program setting. Other Experience Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements of Position: Criminal History check, Child care security check, Fingerprinting, Driver's license Other Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements
Child care security check: Family Care Safety Registry
Fingerprinting required by licensing BEFORE employment.
Missouri Class E license optional or ability to achieve this license for field trips or outings in the university 15 passenger van. Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge: Attention to detail, Communication skills, including oral, written, and/or nonverbal, Human Relations/Interpersonal skills, Leadership skills: organization/meeting facilitation/project leadership, Physical abilities: mobility/strength/dexterity/balance/coordination/endurance, Supervisory skills, including motivation, delegation of duties, evaluation, etc, Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines, Maintain confidentiality Other Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
Mental skills, including concentration, memory, complex decision making, analytical thinking, and/or conceptual thinking. Specify sensory abilities: Physical & Environmental Factors: Excessive standing and/or walking, Lifting (weight) - 50 lbs. Other Physical & Environmental Factors
Bending, stooping, and sitting on floor.
Physical stamina to engage with children for 5 hours a day. Lifting weight Special Working Conditions: Irregular work hours Other Special Working Conditions
Irregular hours – Workshops and trainings may be scheduled on some nights and weekends.
Professional appearance – Appropriate comfortable clothing to play with children. Ability to Keyboard No keyboarding test required. Special Qualifications: Other Special Qualifications
Physical exam required within 30 days for employment, as required by licensing.
TB screening within 30 days of employment, as required by licensing.
Maintain CPR & First Aid training (initial training within first 90 days of employment); must be pediatric CPR Supplemental Questions
