Overview:

The Management and Entrepreneurship Department of the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Business Ethics beginning September 2022.

Basic Qualifications

The Leavey School of Business and Santa Clara University have a long tradition of excellence in normative business ethics. The courses a successful applicant will be expected to teach at the undergraduate and MBA levels require instructors to assure learning in normative ethics. Accordingly, applicants should have a Ph.D. or equivalent in business ethics, philosophy, or a closely related field, and must be capable of teaching courses in normative business ethics. The Ph.D. must be completed, or near completion, by the start date. Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to publish original research on normative business ethics topics in high-quality peer-reviewed scholarly journals such as Business Ethics Quarterly and the Journal of Business Ethics and also have demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.

 

Responsibilities: 

(A) maintaining a program of research in normative business ethics leading to publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals; 

(B) teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in normative business ethics and other related topics, and fulfilling the responsibilities associated with those courses; 

(C) providing suitable service to the Department, University, profession, and/or community.
