The Department of English and Comparative Literature and the Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race (CSER) at Columbia University invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Native American and Indigenous Studies to be shared between the two units. We seek a candidate whose work is attentive to issues of indigeneity, race and ethnicity and grows from an engagement with literary works; these works may include cinematic or other visual texts. We encourage candidates from all relevant areas, periods, and geographies of specialty within the fields of Native American and Indigenous Studies to apply. Teaching responsibilities will be divided equally between the English Department and CSER.  Ph.D. must be awarded by July 1, 2018.   All applications must be made through Columbia University's Recruitment of Academic Personnel System (RAPS) and must include a cover letter, current CV, dissertation abstract, and writing sample of no more than twenty-five pages.  Applicants also should arrange for three letters of reference to be uploaded into RAPS.  For more information and to apply, please go to
