• One (1) year IT support or related experience.
• Minimum Qualification can be substituted with an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

  • Experience in implementation of system and infrastructure technologies
  • Experience maintaining and monitoring systems and technologies in the systems and Infrastructure department
  • Experience updating systems and infrastructure software and hardware configurations
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting incidents reported by stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Work Hours
Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs. Compensation Starting pay is $41,667 to $50,000 annually. (Range 6C). Competitive benefit package is included. Special Instructions to Applicants

Class Summary
This is the first level in the Information Technology series. The Systems Support Specialist assists the IT (Information Technology) engineers in supporting the college’s various technologies provided by the Systems and Infrastructure department.

  • Support the implementation of system and infrastructure technologies
  • Maintain and monitor systems and technologies in the Systems and Infrastructure department
  • Update systems and infrastructure software and hardware configurations
  • Support and troubleshoot incidents reported by stakeholders
  • Participate in projects assigned by the director
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders




Knowledge
• Technology troubleshooting techniques;
• Customer service principles;
• Applicable hardware, software, media, telecommunications, and/or related equipment;
• Windows operating systems. Skills
• Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing hardware, software, peripheral devices, and/or other related equipment problems;
• Providing customer service;
• Using a computer and related software applications;
• Training users on applicable hardware, software, peripheral devices, and/or other related equipment;
• Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, and others sufficient to exchange or convey information. Positions Supervised
