Position Summary:

The Waisman Center is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge about human development, developmental disabilities, and neurodegenerative diseases throughout the lifespan. One of 14 centers of its kind in the United States, the Waisman Center encompasses laboratories for biomedical and behavioral research, a brain imaging center, and a clinical biomanufacturing facility for the production of pharmaceuticals for early stage human clinical trials. In addition to its research efforts, the Center provides an array of services to people with developmental disabilities, offers numerous educational and outreach programs to young children and their families, and trains scientists and clinicians who will serve our nation in the future.

The Child Emotion Laboratory is focused on research into children's emotional development and the relationship between early emotional experience and child psychopathology. This position will be responsible to conduct bio-behavioral and neuroimaging research experiments with adolescents.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

A Bachelor's Degree is required. A degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, public affairs, economics, public health, education, or a related field is preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

The following experience and skills are required:
- Experience working with neuroimaging and cognitive data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent management and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to use common Microsoft software programs, such as Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and maintain professional interactions with families, members of the community, outside organizations (such as Housing and Urban Development), and research staff.

Well-qualified applicants will have the following preferred experiences/qualifications:
- Prior work experience with community organizations, government social service agencies, public policy and/or fMRI laboratory experience.
- Prior psychology laboratory or clinical research experience with children, adolescents, and/or families. Relevant student experience may be considered.
