An Administrative Specialist performs higher level office support duties and provides specialized program support for an administrative department, college, or program. Administrative Specialists perform a wide range of administrative and personal assistant duties including conducting research, preparing statistical reports and spreadsheets, preparing correspondence, reports and presentations, handling information requests, planning conferences and meetings, providing purchasing and payroll support, fulfilling employment administration requirements, making travel arrangements, and maintaining calendars and schedules. Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and administrative experience, with five (5) plus years of administrative experience.
  • Experience in higher education preferred but not required.
Job Specific Qualifications
  • This position requires a detail-oriented person who can manage multiple priorities in a timely and efficient manner. Candidate should be able to demonstrate strong communications skills, written, oral and in-person.
  • Strong ability with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work with faculty, staff, students and guests to support the College in its diversity, equity and inclusive efforts.
  • Strong organization and people skills.
Responsibilities
  • Support tactical needs of Assistant Dean for Inclusive Excellence through managing expense reports, tracking invoices and running budget reports, updating records, generating and proofing correspondence.
  • Schedule and coordinate IE signature activities including dialogue circle events.
  • Manage daily operations of the Office of Inclusive Excellence including overseeing payroll and student requests.
  • Support strategic objectives through student engagement and program management.
  • Manage database and tracking of various IE programs.
