Job Description:

The Kansas City University Admissions Office is seeking an individual for its open full-time Admission Event Coordinator position to assist with the execution of various events and help to promote the University as a viable educational institution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate on and off campus events for Admissions Office
  • Design and execute the interview day, campus visit and other admission event experiences
  • Collaborate with facilities, security, student services and caterers to ensure all details for admission events are covered
  • Effectively and accurately ensure appropriate arrangement and training for interview team
  • Work directly with faculty and staff to ensure that the institution has enough interviewers needed for each interview day
  • Create and implement the communication plan for communicating with all individuals about the upcoming interview day, campus visit and other admission events
  • Serve as the Office of Admissions lead on event days, ensuring the office staff know exactly what roles they will play and when and where they need to be
  • Effectively oversees the lifecycle of the student interview process and ensures that the assessment of applicants is provided to the Admissions Committee.
  • Assists in responding to prospective student inquiries and needs including answering phones, responding to emails and providing information as needed.
  • Assist with general office support
  • Represent department and the University favorably and in accordance with established Core Values and expectations
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives or the organization
  • Work under general supervisions

  • Participate in developing department goals, objectives and systems
  • Actively participate in team and University meetings


Qualifications:

  • Associates degree required, Bachelors degree preferred
  • One year event planning experience required
  • One year customer service experience required
  • Two plus years experience in a college admissions office preferred
  • Must have experience answering the phone in a professional environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and a self-starter
  • Ability to be flexible and able to shift priorities as demands change
  • Able to work in a team environment and interact closely with team members
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at all levels in an organization
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and a strong working knowledge of databases
