Job Description:

The College Supervisor will:

  • Support field experiences in the schools through monitoring and oversight of fieldwork/internship plans and supports the student and Site Supervisor.
  • Conduct site visits, confer with student to cooperatively analyze and evaluate their administrative work, counsel student concerning any problems with adjustment to their administrative role, serve as a liaison in documentation of student performance, and be directly involved in assessing students at the close of each fieldwork phase.
  • Manage meetings, communication, paperwork and expectations that all standards (PSALs) are being reinforced, practiced, and met in the internship/fieldwork.


Leadership Academy students are required to complete 500 hours of fieldwork. These experiences are monitored by the College Supervisor in partnership with the Site Supervisor.

  • Fieldwork/internship hours are supervised by the College Supervisor.
  • College Supervisors provide an orientation during the first summer residency.


Meetings

The College Supervisor will:

  • Schedule six (6) three-way meetings that include the College Supervisor and the student assuring the Site Supervisor will attend at least three (3) of the six (6) meetings. Of the six (6) formal meetings, the first meeting must be in person at the fieldwork/internship site, and the Site Supervisor must attend the first meeting. The remaining meetings may occur via internet conference and supported by email.
  • Facilitate the ongoing communication that is necessary to ensure all expectations are being met.
  • The College Supervisor meets with the Leadership Academy Director and colleagues as needed.


Student Evaluation/Grade

The College Supervisor will:

  • Provide a mid-term evaluation and a final evaluation based on hours completed and artifacts collected and uploaded into CANVAS. Students are evaluated (Pass/Fail) based on site visits by the College Supervisor and a final Fieldwork Proposal.
  • Participate in meetings and communicate with the student and Site Supervisor, ultimately evaluating and determining that students have successfully completed the fieldwork/internship requirements and met or exceeded all required standards.
  • Communicate with the Leadership Academy Director about student performance and/or concerns.
  • Submit grades. Grades will be based on Pass/Fail standard with expectation that the student has met (Proficient) or exceeded all standards/indicators. Students who do not meet expectations will be expected to complete additional hours, experiences, or revise work submitted as directed by the College Supervisor.
  • Submit all paperwork and documentation required to endorse the student for licensure.



Requirements:

  • Master's degree or higher in Education.
  • Previous professional experience in PK-12 educational leadership.
  • Must be able to travel to student's internship sites.

This is a part-time non-benefited position.
