Gettysburg College is seeking a full-time Academic Administrative Assistant to work for the Sunderman Conservatory of Music. This position provides supervisory, administrative, and office management services for the Sunderman Conservatory of Music, its director, faculty members, and guest artists. Specifically, responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: serving as initial contact person for the department; providing administrative support to the Director; working closely with Conservatory admissions team to provide scheduling and logistical support for audition days, open houses, and other recruiting events for prospective students and families; managing Conservatory advertising, social media, and website content in partnership with other offices on campus; generating faculty meeting and retreat minutes; serving as administrative support for faculty searches; and working in partnership with other Conservatory staff to coordinate scheduling of Conservatory facilities for a variety of departmental operations and events.

 

High school education or equivalent required, with a post-high school degree preferred. A minimum of three to five years in administrative services highly desirable, experience in academic support preferable. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite required; general accounting and website maintenance experience desirable. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; prioritize and organize daily responsibilities and longer-term projects; work both independently and as part of a team; accurately handle a variety of tasks simultaneously; learn new software applications; successfully meet deadlines; have professional and supportive interactions with students and faculty in a diverse environment; handle confidential information in the appropriate manner; work in a fast-paced environment; work with high volumes of electronic mail; pay attention to detail and maintain accuracy; occasionally work weekend hours and overtime. Gettysburg College   seeks candidates who have the communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize their effectiveness with diverse groups of students, colleagues, and community members.

Hourly rate: $16.25 per hour, negotiable depending on experience.

This is a three (3) year appointment beginning in September 2021 through May 2024, with possible renewal pending funding approval.
