JOB SUMMARY:

The application integration specialist contributes an understanding of complex business processes and technical guidance in support of enterprise level applications. This role supports the manager of application integration services in the management of the University's application portfolio.

REPORTS TO: Manager of Application Integration Services

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Supports mission-critical enterprise applications in accordance with business processes, University policies, IT procedures, and vendor specifications.
2. Identifies and resolves technical and functional issues in support of business processes and end-users.
3. Assists in the integration of all applications to maximize system availability and business value.
4. Evaluates proposed functional changes to existing applications and architecture and recommends appropriate solutions.
5. Ensure ongoing operational stability of electronic document management systems, including application and system upgrades as well as end user support.
6. Integrate applications using REST/SOAP APIs with our ERP and SQL Data warehouse
7. Maintain system documentation.
8. Plan, coordinate, test, and implement system and application upgrades while communicating changes with end users.
9. Assist in the development of the University's SQL data warehouse.
10. Perform other job related duties as assigned by manager, director, or CIO.

REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)

1. Experience in MS SQL Server, MS Windows Server, NoSQL, TCP/IP based networking.
2. Experience administering Windows Server based applications.
3. 3 years development experience in SQL and another programming language such as Python (or an equivalent language).
4. Experience in database analysis, design, and implementation of relational database applications.
5. Experience leveraging APIs to extract and also update information within an application.
6. Experience using ETL tools such as SSIS.
7. Excellent problem solving/analytical skills, knowledge of analytical tools, and complex troubleshooting methods.
8. Demonstrated ability to be the subject matter expert in supporting, maintaining, and administering complex applications.
9. Self-motivated, able to work independently, and takes initiative.
10. Create a culture of customer service and promote IT's value across all levels of the organization.
11. High ethical standards.
12. Excellent verbal and written skills.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent training, and/or experience.
2. Minimum of two years' experience in IT operations and user support is required.
