POST-DOCTORAL FELLOW POSITION

Position
The Department of Microbiology and Immunology, at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting for a junior postdoctoral researcher to study neurodegenerative disorders using iPSC models. The candidate should have a PhD, experience in Cell/Molecular Biology, excellent oral and written communication skills, and be able to work independently. Experience in hESC/iPSC technology and neuronal development is desirable.

The position is available immediately, with some flexibility. Qualifications :

Qualifications We are looking for an organized, enthusiastic and motivated new PhD graduate, or postdoc with up to 2 years of experience. A PhD in Cell and Molecular biology or closely related area is required. Experience working with primary cell cultures is essential, as is experience with protein biochemistry and cell phenotyping. Molecular biology skills, and expertise in the generation and differentiation of stem cells will also be beneficial

The successful candidate will be expected to lead their project, support and contribute to ongoing research projects, to provide training and supervision to more junior colleagues (BSc and MSc students, technicians and PhD students), to generate and prepare data for presentation and/or publication, and to work in a highly organized, professional and collaborative manner, both with internal and external collaborators. Excellent oral and written communication skills are also required (English fluency-verbal and written).
