Position Summary:

Clinical teaching and patient care in the emergency medicine environment. Provide medical direction and clinical care of pediatric patients in the Emergency Department at American Family Children's Hospital (AFCH).

Principal Duties:

For appointments hired as Assistant Professor (CHS):
Responsibilities will include the clinical care of emergency department patients and the education of medical students, residents and other learners in the academic medical setting. In addition, there is an expectation for participation in scholarly activities that will benefit the department, including outreach activities, administrative responsibilities, and/or research.

For appointments hired as Clinical Assistant Professor:
Responsibilities will include the clinical care of emergency department patients and the education of medical students, residents and other learners in the academic medical setting. In addition, there are opportunities for participation in scholarly activities that benefit the department, including its clinical care, educational, and/or research missions.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

MD or DO required; Board Eligible/Board Certified in Emergency Medicine.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Completed accredited Emergency Medicine residency training program.

License or Certificate:

Eligible for Wisconsin Medical License

Additional Information:

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial Caregiver Check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and then every four years.
