Job Description:

As part of the Infrastructure & Communication Technology (ICT) Team, you will lead medium to large-sized projects and direct teams responsible for maintenance, installation, configuration, and deployment of advanced hardware and software systems. You and your team will participate in managing UF Data Centers and delivering hosted server, storage, virtualization, database, email, or related systems. These systems connect University of Florida campuses and research sites to the world via high-speed data, video, WI-FI, telecommunications, and VoIP services.

This role provides opportunities to architect and design advanced system solutions, define enterprise standards, recommend new initiatives, and help UFIT align with industry trends. You’ll also collaborate with managers and technical peers and serve as a vital mentor to junior colleagues.

Expected Salary:

$108,000 – 118,000, commensurate based on experience and education. In addition, the University of Florida offers a very competitive benefits package. https://benefits.hr.ufl.edu/

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and ten years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred candidates for this role will have the following qualifications:

Expertise in:
·Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), Kerberos, or Active Directory
·IBM Spectrum Protect suite
·IBM Tape Library management
·Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
·One or more of the following vendor storage arrays: IBM Storwize, Dell EMC PowerScale (Isilon OneFS), NetApp FAS, AFF, and E-series, Dell EMC XtremIO, Pure
·Fiber Channel Storage Area Network (FC-SAN)

Skills and/or Techniques, such as:
·Strong Oral and Written Communication skills
·Microsoft (MS) Windows operating system installation and support procedures
these collaboration tools: MS Outlook, Teams, Zoom, and MS Office suite
·Domain Name Service (DNS) and Active Directory Domain Name Service (AD DNS)
·TCP/IP
·Expertise with Linux operating system installation and support procedures
·Enterprise backup systems including IBM Spectrum Protect aka TSM and Rubrik
·Server security practices and methodologies
·Storage area network (SAN) networking and storage technologies
·Fiber switch management, storage allocation, zoning, and logical unit (LUN) security concepts, including those specific to Broadcom/Brocade Switch Software, Cisco Datacenter Network Manager, IBM Storwize disk array and tape libraries, EMC XtremIO, NetApp Data ONTAP, Dell Powervault and Pure Storage
·Virtual local area network (VLAN) concepts for cluster private interconnect technology
·Load-balancing technology (including Cisco and F5 devices)
