Position Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities
The VCU Administrative Systems team has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team!

The Business Intelligence Analyst designs, develops and maintains data objects and displays using the SAS Enterprise Business Intelligence ( EBI ), SAS Visual Analytics/Visual Statistics (VA/VS) and SAS Data Management Advanced platforms which provide metrics and analytics for the Division of Administration.

This position works in a team environment with Technology Services staff and subject matter experts in Administration and Human Resources to develop project requirements, perform project management, design and implement using best practices for analytics and data warehousing.

Responsibilities include enhancement, maintenance, troubleshooting, performance and security. Minimum Hiring Standards
Bachelor’s degree with focus on Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent experience in a related area.

Customer satisfaction orientation, enjoy working with technical and non-technical staff and customers.

Interest in the usage of business intelligence and analytics to support decision making.

Interest in data warehousing in support of business intelligence and analytics.

Demonstrated ability to perform systems analysis to define and develop solutions to meet customer requirements.

Database programming experience (Oracle, SQL Server) or analytical programming experience.

Knowledge of including SQL and database performance issues.

Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills.

Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU .

Other duties as assigned Preferred Hiring Standards
Experience with the SAS Enterprise Business Intelligence ( EBI ), SAS Visual Analytics/Visual Statistics (VA/VS) and SAS DataManagement Advanced platforms.

Programming experience using SAS language.

Familiarity with the Kimball methodologies.
Working knowledge of Unix/Linux OS.

Web application development experience using ASP .Net/VB.Net/C#, PHP, Java/ JDBC / JSP /Servlet, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, JQuery.

Experience with higher education data (particularly Ellucian Banner).
