The Coordinator/Director will be part of the Student Affairs Division and will manage the daily operations of the Beth Robinson Judson Leadership Center, including the Women’s Leadership Center and the Living Learning Community (LLC) for Leadership. The position will play a role in fostering student engagement and leadership as well as to support and promote student retention.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of the Beth Robinson Judson Center for Leadership, including the Women’s Leadership Center.
  • Continue to enhance the Women’s Leadership Academy through continual recruitment of leaders with a focus on teaching and capstone projects.
  • Create, recruit, and manage a Living Learning Community (LLC) on Leadership within our residential community in consultation with the Office of Residential Communities.
  • Develop, coordinate, and present programs and workshops to a wide range of audiences in the areas of leadership development.
  • Teach courses (WGST201 and WGST 475) as part of the Leadership Minor.
  • Manage the Strategic Plan for the Center and update as needed to respond to changes at the divisional and institutional level.
  • Recruit train and supervise staff, including interns, work-study students, graduate assistants, and part-time secretary for the Leadership Center.
  • Manage the budget; provide fiscal oversight of all program initiatives.


Requirements:

  • Master’s degree preferred, Bachelor's degree required from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • At least two years of professional experience working in higher education and in a student- facing role.
  • Well-developed public speaking skills, including teaching, group presentations, and other forms of professional communication
  • Student-focused approach and ability to interact effectively with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, the community, and advisory board in a professional manner
  • Ability to innovate
  • Strong and effective organizational skills
  • Demonstrated experience in event and program planning and management
  • Ability to establish partnerships with diverse groups, both on and off campus
  • High level of flexibility as the Leadership Center changes to fit the needs of the students
  • Knowledge of websites, materials, publications, and subscriptions that are relevant to women’s leadership challenges
  • Previous experience in women’s leadership challenges preferred
  • Previous experience working in a residential college setting
  • Strong work ethic and effective organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with Student Affairs directors and colleagues across the university
  • Ability to serve as a role model to students
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and some desktop publishing
