Full-time/Fractional Senior Clinical Practitioner/Clinical Practitioner in Cariology (A) (2 posts)
Applications are invited for appointment as Full-time/Fractional Senior Clinical Practitioner/Clinical Practitioner in Cariology (A) (2 posts) and Endodontics (B) (1 post) in the Faculty of Dentistry (Ref.: 504618) to commence in September 2021, on a two-year fixed-term basis.
For appointment as Senior Clinical Practitioner, applicants should possess a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree or equivalent, and their clinical expertise should enjoy regional acclaim as evidenced by extensive clinical or teaching experience, regional clinical or scientific publications/presentations, and regional recognition of clinical excellence in a clinical specialty. For post A, applicants should have clearly demonstrable clinical experience in the comprehensive treatment of dental patients and preferably a higher qualification in Conservative Dentistry, General Dental Practice or Family Dentistry. For post B, applicants should have clinical specialist status in Endodontics.
For appointment as Clinical Practitioner, applicants should possess a BDS degree or equivalent, and must demonstrate comprehensive clinical experience as well as evidence of sustained development through continuing professional education; or hold an MDS degree or equivalent.
The appointees will supervise clinical teaching of undergraduate students pertaining to the nominated Discipline (including Comprehensive Dental Care), as well as clinical service; and assist with managing students’ families of patients. Senior Clinical Practitioners who are registered as a specialist may also provide clinical training to postgraduate students. Enquiries about the duties of the posts should be sent to Professor M.F. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointments will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. For Senior Clinical Practitioner posts, housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
