Applications are invited for appointment as Research Officer (holding the title of Project Manager) in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 504696), to commence as soon as possible on a 30-month fixed-term basis.

Applicants should possess a Doctoral degree or a Master’s degree with at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience. They should have (i) solid experience in executing education-related projects; (ii) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; (iii) good interpersonal, organizational, and managerial skills; (iv) knowledge about school operations; and (v) familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), as well as qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. They should also be accountable, articulate, determined, collaborative, and able to lead and work independently.

The appointee will work on a project on intergenerational and gamified learning. He/She is expected to provide professional support to the elderly, staff of partner organizations, local schools, and students. In addition, he/she will work closely with the project investigators to manage and coordinate different aspects of the project as outlined below:

  • to coordinate and liaise with various parties on recruitment
  • to work collaboratively and facilitate the preparation and implementation of training and learning activities for the seniors, teachers, and students
  • to assist in preparing training materials for seniors, teachers, staff of elderly centres
  • to closely monitor the project timeline
  • to assist in drafting project reports, designing qualitative and quantitative research, conducting data collection and analysis; and
  • to perform other duties as assigned.


A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
