Department Summary
The UO Department of Human Physiology is home to undergraduate and graduate students who desire strong training in human physiology and anatomy that will prepare them for careers in medicine, allied health professions, and biomedical research.

Position Summary
The Department of Human Physiology at the University of Oregon invites applications for potential research assistant and associate positions. Positions are available on an ongoing basis to conduct research within different research groups. Appointments are funding contingent and temporary in nature, potentially renewable for up to a total of three years.

Applications will be reviewed on an as-needed basis.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering, Human Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field
  • Experience in a laboratory performing human subjects' research or in a clinical environment

    Professional Competencies
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work demands, and coordinate research protocols with other staff and students
  • Excellent organizational skills and careful attention to details
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and oral formats
  • Ability to work both independently, in a small group setting, and one-on-one with students, other staff, and collaborators in a positive and productive manner
  • Ability to work efficiently and skillfully with a variety of diverse staff and collaborators
  • High level of self-motivation and integrity

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or PhD degree
  • Proficient in neurophysiology and/or biomechanical assessments
  • Peer-reviewed publications in neurophysiology and/or biomechanics
  • Experience writing and/or amending IRB protocols and other regulatory documents
  • Experience with university purchasing and travel
