Compensation: $47,611 - $54,267.00
The Office of Admissions at Naropa University seeks a dynamic, experienced leader to serve as Associate Director of Admissions and Multicultural Recruitment. Serving as an advocate and point of contact for historically underrepresented prospective students across our undergraduate and graduate programs, the Associate Director will work with senior leadership and other campus partners to implement Naropa’s strategic enrollment plan, with particular emphasis in the area of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusivity (JEDI). The Associate Director will lead a team of professional admissions counselors and will be responsible for managing a diverse prospective student portfolio from inquiry to matriculation. The selected candidate will exhibit superior supervisory skills, customer service, and professionalism throughout daily interactions and communications with their direct reports and prospective students. This position will work remotely and on campus, and will require up to four weeks of travel per year.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Key Accountability: Admissions & Multicultural Recruitment (60% of effort)
•Meet aggressive enrollment goals
(individual and team) in accordance with Naropa’s strategic
enrollment plan, with emphasis on enrollment goals in the areas of
justice, equity, diversity, and inclusivity (JEDI).
•In partnership with the Senior Director of Admissions, faculty, and the division of Mission, Culture, and Inclusive Community, coordinates the full-cycle antiracist admissions process that recruits and supports historically underrepresented students.
•Serves as the Office of Admissions representative within the JEDI committee and participate in regular meetings.
•Manages and supports a diverse prospective student portfolio from inquiry to matriculation through regular communication and proactive outreach via video, phone, text, and email.
•Represents the University at various in person (regional/national) and virtual recruitment events: school visits, college and graduate fairs, open houses, and receptions.
•Hosts group and individual information sessions for prospective students and their support systems via video and phone.
•Stays abreast of best practices in the support and recruitment of historically underrepresented students via professional development, conference attendance, and ongoing research.
•Plans and executes regional and national recruiting trips, including scheduling, travel accommodations, budget management, database entry, and follow-up.
•Other duties as required.

admissions counselors, including hiring, training, recognition, and

Key Accountability: Systems Oversight & Improvement (10% of effort)
•Researches, sources, and implements new
systems and technologies as necessary.
•Maintains accuracy of student records in CRM and other databases as needed, including biographical information, education records, etc.
•Continuously collects admissions data based on KPIs identified in the strategic enrollment plan; analyzes and interprets data in relation to University, department, and JEDI strategic goals.
•Regularly assesses effectiveness of current strategies, tactics, technologies, and processes; makes recommendations for improvements as appropriate.
•Bachelor's degree in any field.
•Minimum of three years' relevant experience in higher education admissions, recruitment, or student services/support. Minimum one year supervising and managing employees.
•Must demonstrate a commitment to co-create a diverse, inclusive, and equitable community, and actively participate in related professional development regarding the dynamics of privilege and oppression and the impact these have in the workplace.
•Experience working with students and families of diverse backgrounds underrepresented in higher education.
•Understanding of and commitment to upholding the vision and mission of Naropa University through aligned personal behaviors, actions, and communications.
•Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, CRM, and general data base entry/management.
•Valid driver’s license unrestricted for at least 3 years, a satisfactory driving record, and ability to drive locally and regionally as part of work activities.
•Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and verbal and written communication skills.
•Ability to skillfully give and receive feedback and have difficult conversations.
•Strong presentation skills.
•High personal level of motivation, strong sense of initiative and self-direction.
•Up to four weeks of travel per year.
•Work to be performed remotely in an appropriate setting and in an office environment on campus.
•Performs a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature.
•Performs with periodic interruptions and distractions.
•Must be able to accommodate some evening and weekend work.
