Position summary. The Department of Political Science at Gettysburg College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning August 2021.  The department seeks candidates in the subfields of American politics and International Relations. The successful candidate will be able to teach sections of the department’s introductory American government and International Relations courses and upper-level courses in areas related to the study of Judicial Politics. There is also potential to teach an upper-level course focusing on the candidate’s specialty. The teaching load for this position will be three courses each semester.

Qualifications. Candidates should have a Ph.D. (or be ABD) in Political Science with subfield specializations in American Politics and International Relations. Teaching experience or promise of excellence in teaching is desirable.  We strongly encourage applications from candidates who demonstrate through their teaching, scholarship, or governance that they can contribute to the diversity and inclusivity of our community.
