About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the Director of Finance & Operations and working closely with the Office of the Chancellor Finance Team, the Business Operations Associate is responsible for a variety of fiscal business activities and program administration for the GEO, N.U.in, and other NU Global programs.

Responsibilities:
The Business Operations Associate plays a pivotal role in ensuring that these programs kick off, run, and end smoothly. This includes, but is not limited to, managing program finances, administering the recruitment, hiring, payroll, and onboarding of program staff, training program leaders, international logistics, expenditure review, and reconciliation. In addition, the Business Operations Associate manages a portfolio of budget indexes and participates in unit forecast exercises and quarterly review of expenditures and projections. The Business Operations Associate is responsible for reviewing and ensuring appropriateness and accuracy of expenditures and compliance to all University policy and procedures. S/he works provides training and consultation to managers and departmental staff on Concur, fiscal policy, and procedures. Additionally, the Business Operations Associate supplies budget reports and is responsible for tracking compensation spending against budgeted resources.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3-5 years of business operations experience, including budget management experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong multi-tasking, organization, and time management skills
  • Customer service focused and comfort interfacing with a diverse community
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to take initiative and follow-through
  • Demonstrated flexibility, positive attitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment while handling multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Banner Finance and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
  • Experience with Enterprise Finance Systems, QuickBooks, Concur, Cognos and TM1 (IBM) budget software platform preferred

The division is extremely busy and requires an individual with proven experiences in handling confidential materials, multi-tasking, and handling sensitive situations in a calm, thoughtful and professional manner. Must be able to manage deadlines and has a proven ability to work independently and collaboratively across units.
