About the Opportunity:
The Associate Head Coach will bring a high level of sport specific knowledge and to this position with the expectation that this role will contribute significantly to the professionalism of the coaching staff and the integrity, quality, and success of the program and the student-athletes.
Responsibilities:
The Associate Head Coach of Men's Rowing will work closely with the Head Coach in the management of a division I men's rowing program with aspirations of competing for a national championship. The Associate Head Coach will work with the Head Coach to shape the technical and physiological training programs implemented. The Associate Head Coach will serve as “recruiting coordinator” for the program and will work closely with the Head Coach in the process of recruiting student-athletes who are capable of succeeding as members of the Northeastern Rowing Program. The Associate Head Coach will report to and work closely with the Head Coach in program administration, program management and program advancement. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as Head Coach or Assistant Coach at a successful college rowing program or rowing club. The Associate Head Coach will work with the Head Coach to advance the skills and strength of all of the student-athletes (freshmen through seniors) and crews within the Men's Rowing Program.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree. 3-6 years of coaching experience. Prior experience working within an Intercollegiate Athletic Department that adheres to NCAA rules, A professional network of colleagues and peers in the sport of rowing, Prior experience working with 18-23 year old athletes at the college or international level, Experience managing people and organizations, Office and administrative experience, Exceptional interpersonal skills, Extensive technical knowledge of rowing equipment, Excellent computer skills. Valid Driver's license.
