Colgate University, a top-ranked liberal arts college, is seeking an Administrative Assistant for Alumni Relations Reporting to play an integral role in supporting an alumni program focused on engaging more than 34,000 living alumni.

On an annual basis, more than 56% of Colgate’s alumni engage with the University through philanthropy, volunteering, or engaging at online and in person programs, including signature events like Reunion that draws in more than 2500 alumni and guests. This tradition of philanthropy paired with strong levels of alumni affinity position Colgate well for even greater success, as the Vice President and his team prepare to lead the community into an historic and comprehensive campaign.

At this pivotal moment in the University’s history, Colgate is seeking an Assistant Director of Alumni Relations to play an integral role in supporting the alumni relations team. The person in this role will be responsible for managing pieces of our Signature Programs including Reunion and regional programming. This successful candidate will possess strong communication and volunteer management skills, the ability to collaborate with a variety of entities, and be detail oriented. Accountabilities
Accountable for creation and delivery of programs and events to strengthen alumni connection and engagement. Accountable for achieving pre-determined engagement goals for Reunion. Responsible for effective management, training, and engagement of volunteers. Responsible for effective and independent management of multiple Reunion programs and logistics. Accountable for effective coordination and support of Alumni Relations Signature Programs, which includes Reunion and Regional Programs.

Professional Experience/ Qualifications
- Previous event planning and execution experience, and demonstrated abilities coordinating vendors and volunteers is essential.
- Experience with Microsoft suite of products and Google Suite is preferred.
- Experience with Black Baud’s Razors Edge a plus.
- Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, be well organized, detail oriented and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Proficiency and skills with computer technology required.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated an entrepreneurial thought process, a high energy approach and creative thinking skills.

Exceptionally strong organizational skills are critical as well as the ability to be flexible, manage multiple tasks and respond appropriately to unexpected challenges.

The ability to successfully represent the university with all stakeholders and to understand the value of a liberal arts education is essential.

Must be able to travel and work evenings and weekends when needed. Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Colgate University and its alumni community is preferred.

Experience in institutional advancement, event planning, marketing, or related experience is preferred. Education
