Job Description:

Screening Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of free health screenings in urban elementary schools in the Joplin area and Kansas City metropolitan area.

Essential Duties:

  • Coordinates free health screenings to urban core elementary children in the KC metropolitan area. Schedules screenings and re-screenings in every school.
  • Supports director by working with nursing and allied health school faculty to schedule allied health science students, and foster healthy organizational partnerships. Includes timely procurement of all written, signed agreements needed for collaborative partnerships.
  • Supports the coordination and promotion of early clinical experience through Score 1 for KCU medical students.
  • Schedules events associated with promotion of health screenings
  • Works with school nurses and other staff and promotes their role as partner with Score 1
  • Schedules trainings and orientations for nursing and allied health programs participating in Score 1 screenings.
  • Works with office coordinator and assistant to schedule screening events designed to meet the needs of the program and KCU curricular/clinical departments.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in allied health or human services preferred
  • Five years’ experience working in elementary schools and/or community health organizations. Experience in health promotion, event scheduling and coordination, multi-cultural health education and training, mentoring, health professions students is desired.
  • School nursing health and/or school district health services experience is desirable
  • Ability to navigate computer applications
  • Strong proficiency with Word, Excel, Microsoft Office and email communications necessary
  • Ability to analyze and resolve procedural problems
  • Organize own work, coordinating projects, setting priorities, meeting deadlines and follow up on assignments with minimum direction
  • Use initiative and independent judgment within established policy and procedural guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, subordinates, superiors, the general public, representatives of public and private organizations and others sufficient to exchange or convey information.
