JOB SUMMARY:

This position serves in a multi-functional role supporting the entire Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion on project development, coordination and completion. The Coordinator of Hispanic Serving Institution Initiatives maintains responsibility for developing, monitoring, maintaining and organizing assigned projects and initiatives related to diversity, equity and inclusion from preliminary phase activities to completion.

REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
  1. Assist the Executive Director in developing and implementing strategies to see that projects and initiatives are successfully completed.
  2. Coordinate efforts with members of the community to work towards the institutional goal of becoming a Hispanic Serving Institution, including the planning and development of related strategic initiatives.
  3. Coordinate, implement and communicate the tracking, scheduling and execution for the Hispanic Community Partnership Program.
  4. Serve as the staff liaison for the Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities and regularly provide updates to the DEI staff and Adelphi University community.
  5. Assist with development efforts and/or projects to promote, cultivate and engage diverse staff members at the University.
  6. Prepare and maintain financial accounting records appropriate to assigned projects.
  7. Contribute to the content of each month's DEI newsletter.
  8. Ability to handle confidential information and requests with discretion.
  9. Develop and deliver in-person and online presentations.
  10. Perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Bachelor's degree required.
  2. Minimum of three years in project management experience or in a similar position.
  3. Previous successful experience organizing, managing and reporting on multiple priorities, activities and projects concurrently.
  4. Experience working in an office and/or educational setting required.
  5. Bilingual (Spanish/English) fluency, preferred.
