Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (WOT), Department of Pediatrics, Division of Genetic Med
The Division of Genetic Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, at the University of Washington is recruiting a full time academic biochemical geneticist at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor (without tenure by reason of funding), commensurate with experience and qualifications, on the Clinician-Scholar pathway. The position will be a full-time, multi-year appointment over a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30).
Responsibilities will include patient care (inpatient consultations, primary inpatient service, outpatient biochemical genetics clinics at the various Seattle Children's Hospital sites and the University of Washington, and regional clinics in Washington) and teaching of medical students and residents. Opportunities will be available for clinical research and collaboration with physician/scientists in the Seattle Children’s Research Institute and basic scientists in the Departments of Pediatrics and Genome Sciences at the University of Washington. Clinical biochemical genetic services are currently provided by five biochemical geneticists, two genetic counselors, three nurses, three dietitians, and one social worker.
Anticipated start date is Fall 2021.

Applicants require an MD, or DO, or MD/DO combined (or foreign equivalent) and be board-certified in Clinical Genetics (MD or DO required) and be either board-certified or board-eligible in Clinical or Medical Biochemical Genetics.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or foreign equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.Application Instructions
