The Assistant Director for Outreach is a key member of the Office of Institutional Diversity (OID) team at Oregon State University, and has three highly impactful roles that advance the university’s strategic diversity, equity and inclusion goals:

First, in collaboration with the Director for Institutional Education for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the Assistant Director is responsible for designing and delivering educational programming to advance the Office of Institutional Diversity’s guidance for diversity learning. Areas of responsibility include educational programming for students and student organizations, and university-wide professional development experiences.

Second, the Assistant Director is responsible for designing and leading signature university-wide OID outreach initiatives, events, and programs, including the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration, and educational campaigns.

Third, in collaboration with the Assistant Vice President for Strategic Diversity Initiatives, the Assistant Director is responsible for the coordination and administration of the university’s Reported Bias Incident Response Protocol, and the operational coordination of the university’s interdisciplinary Bias Response Team. Areas of responsibility include day-to-day case management of reported incidents, designing and implementing educational interventions, collaboration with partner offices, and assessment of reported bias incident data.
