Salary: The target salary range for this position is between the posted minimum and $16,000/monthly.

Position Description:
The Chief of Staff reports to the Administrative Vice Chancellor (VC) for the University of California, Los Angeles. The VC serves as the senior executive responsible for business operations for the campus. The VC provides management and leadership to 10 operational and service units with over 5,200 employees dedicated to providing the highest level of service excellence. The VC oversees a diverse operating and service portfolio comprised of Campus Human Resources; Central Ticket Office; Environment, Health & Safety; Events and Transportation; Facilities Management; Financial & Organizational Services; Housing & Hospitality Services; Information Technology Services; UCLA Police Department; and PreK-12 Programs & Schools.

In addition to overseeing special projects and initiatives on behalf of the VC, and coordinating programs and reports across the operational and service units, the Chief of Staff will independently manage programs and staff engaged in various levels of management and administrative functions. Also serves as the senior consultant to and proxy for the VC on the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives across Administration and in ensuring the necessary staffing, resources, and internal project management are deployed to achieve desired outcomes. The position will oversee assigned strategic projects, conduct independent analysis of complex issues, make recommendations to the VC and department heads, and will work with department leadership to resolve escalated issues and conflicts. The position will also directly supervise office staff.
