About the Position:
The Office of the President is seeking an exceptional individual to join the team as the University House Manager and Events Coordinator. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Under the supervision of the Chief of Staff, the Events Coordinator and University House Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, management, administration, and coordination of events for the Office of the President, as well as the coordination and management of the university house at El Dorado Ranch. Manages, sets up, and maintains a schedule of all routine tasks involved in the upkeep of El Dorado Ranch. Manages and is responsible when necessary for retaining the services of outside contractors for services. Manages and coordinates with appropriate personnel on all aspects of the daily operations of El Dorado Ranch (e.g., arrangement and maintenance of plants, furniture, art work, repairs, etc.). Collaborates and assists appropriate personnel on projects relating to El Dorado Ranch and their involvement with functions, programs and events for CSUF. Communicates and works with caterers on the development of menus. Manages and coordinates services of rental companies, florist, and other appropriate vendors. Manages and is responsible for site selection, contract negotiating, event coordination and on site assistance for all events and meetings. Works with and collaborates with University Advancement to manage, implement, administer, and coordinate larger events. Work with Strategic Communications on the development, design, and printing of invitations of special events. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from and accredited college or university and a minimum of five to eight years of progressive responsible experience working in an administrative capacity in an executive office environment, preferable for a high-level executive or administrator. A minimum of 3 years experience in professionally developing, planning and coordinating programs, activities and special events; experience in managing vendors, caterers, and related service personnel required; demonstrated experience handling highly confidential and sensitive issues; ability to take initiative and use sound judgment in completing tasks, solving problems and developing solutions; ability to plan, schedule and coordinate events; interact personably and effectively with high level administrators, legislative representatives, executive staff and the public; ability to use tact and diplomacy and sound judgment; independently organize and handle a complex workload; ability to work effective under pressure; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; and a thorough knowledge of the organizational and functional structure of the CSU or university setting; and strong attention to detail.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
