REOC: The College at Brockport

The Rochester Educational Opportunity Center (REOC), part of The College at Brockport, State University of New York, and located in downtown Rochester, is seeking applicants for anticipated part-time adjunct faculty openings.

Position Description

The department typically hires adjunct faculty to teach classroom-based, hybrid, and on-line courses for the programs listed below but this list is not all inclusive. Academic Preparations: High School Equivalency, ESOL, College Preparation; Career & Technical Education (Vocational): Barbering Program, Certified Nursing Assistant Program, Child Development Associate Program, Civil Service Preparation Program, Cosmetology Program, Culinary Arts Program, Customer Service Professional Program, Emergency Medical Technician Program, Emergency Telecommunications Program, Home Health Aide Program, Licensed Practical Nursing Program, Medical Secretary Program, Sterile Processing Technician Program, and Teacher Assistant Program.

Required Qualifications
  • Based upon the Program, NYS and/or Industry licensure or certification. A bachelor's degree by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university, or an appropriate level of experience commensurate with the adjunct lecturer responsibilities.
  • Training and/or teaching experience for adults from culturally diverse populations.


  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in the field or closed related by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
  • Significant teaching experience.

    The REOC delivers comprehensive, community-based academic and workforce development programs and provides support services leading to enhanced employment opportunities, access to further education, personal growth and development.     Salary and Benefits

    The amount of compensation will vary based upon instructional hours. Health insurance is available to part-time faculty who teach the equivalent six or more credits, contact hours, or credit equivalents per semester.
