We are looking to hire a full-time, highly organized, team-oriented researcher/practitioner to join an international team on an innovative, federally-funded multiyear project. This person will help develop new four-year undergraduate courses in STEM Teacher Education for five Egyptian universities and support a new post-baccalaureate diploma program in STEM Teaching and STEM School Leadership.
This person will also collaborate with the Vice President of
Organizational Development to help develop new projects to advance
the mission of the organization. This position will require working
at our office near Philadelphia, PA as well as occasional domestic
and international travel.
Qualifications:
●PhD in Biology and or Chemistry, or equivalent professional
experience.
●Science teaching at higher education level using project-based and
active learning;including utilizing formative and summative
assessments. Additional experience teaching at the secondary level
is a plus.
●Experience teaching pre-service science methods courses at the
undergraduate and graduate level. Familiar with Scholarship of
Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and Discipline-Based Education
Research (DBER).
●Dedication to preparing science teachers through the utilization
of quality curricula,research-based practices, and innovative
educational technologies.
●Experience working with teams of educators and/or administrators
on teacher preparation program development or redesign.
●Demonstrated commitment to addressing issues of diversity and
inclusion in education.
●U.S. passport.
Responsibilities:
●Support course development and implementation of a collaborative
4-year undergraduate STEM Teacher Prep-Program, including
professional development programming for faculty.
●Organize and support professional development to faculty of a
collaborative STEM teacher and STEM leadership post-baccalaureate
diploma. Work will include organizing professional learning
communities and revising course syllabi based on feedback from
Egyptian diploma faculty.
●Provide guidance across the project related to formative and
summative assessment at the higher education level.
●Work with the development team at 21PSTEM on grant writing and
related activities to advance the organization.
Compensation:
● Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience in the
range of $80-$110K
